Andrew Taylor – Headteacher
Andrew Taylor took up the full-time position as Headteacher for St Gabriel’s CofE Academy in January 2018.
Prior to joining St Gabriel’s CofE Academy, Andrew worked as an Assistant Headteacher in the Affinity Federation of two large Coventry primary schools and acted as Interim Headteacher in a popular Warwickshire Junior School. He holds a BA Honours degree and Qualified Teacher Status; he is also a designated Specialist Leader of Education and has a track record of ‘Outstanding’ primary teaching and extensive experience of school improvement at senior leadership level, gaining a National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership.
In his previous roles, Andrew has had particular responsibility for assessment and core subject leadership, developing staff and other leaders and raising standards of teaching and learning.
I am passionate about children fulfilling potential, and will strive to ensure our team does all we can to meet the needs of every individual so that they feel valued, loved and able to flourish. Fundamental to this aim is the development of a strong partnership between school, home and the wider community and I am committed to serving the children and families of St Gabriel’s CofE Academy in every way I can for the creation of a truly special community.”
Andrew is joined by a team of dedicated and skilled staff as the school prepares for opening.
Bryony Garner – Assistant Headteacher – Reception
Bryony Garner was appointed in March 2018 and joins us full-time in September as our Reception teacher and Senior Leadership Team member.
Ruth Roberts – Assistant Headteacher – 5/6
Ruth Roberts was appointed in March 2018 and has started work on preparing the school for opening, she will teach Year 5 and 6 in September and is a member of our Senior Leadership Team.
Gemma Bailey – Class Teacher – 1/2
Gemma Bailey was appointed in April 2018 and joins us full-time in September to teach Key Stage 1.
Megan Pearce – Class Teacher – 3/4
Megan Pearce was appointed in April 2018 and joins us full-time in September to teach our mixed-age Year 3 and 4 class.
